Our first annual fly-in in 2022 set the bar to be “The Annual Aviation Event” of choice. Situated in an idyllic bush setting, Bona Bona Game lodge hosted more than 60 aviators flying in from across South Africa during this prestigious event.
Lasting memories were built while pilots shared their passion and experiences with each other over these 3 days.
Herewith a few comments from aviators :
“What a sight it was to see the infrastructure of Bona Bona Lodge and a 1.2 Km airstrip while circling to prepare for landing. ATC was of the best, and I must mention also very accommodating. The security under which we had to leave our gyros was of the best. As gyro owners, we would like to thank Bona Bona for their generosity for sponsoring a large proportion of the fuel and other promotional gifts. The presentations made by Garmin and BOSE were informative with the service given to upgrade GPS software.”
“The entertainment, or rather the party of aviators from all types of aircraft on Saturday evening with Joe Black as entertainer was remarkable”
“This event was unique as pilots from different aircraft could share and enquire about their toys and abilities. The food and entertainment were first- class. Our accommodation was more than four star as we all mentioned at breakfast how evident the perfection is in all aspects of the lodge and its services”

The commencement of our annual fly-in was inspired by our love for aviation and quality family time. We strive to create a special place in the bush, where all aviators feel welcome and at home where luxury and affordability meet. A place where we can gather yearly to share our passions and create a bond amongst the aviation community, family, and friends. We hope you will join us on this journey.
Although the entire lodge will be reserved for the aviation community, space remains limited so make sure you reserve your place to avoid disappointment. Camping options will also be available and subject to demand.

For the more adrenaline seekers we offer Glamping options equipped with twin beds, 2 pillows, sheets, bed comforters, mats, tables, chairs and a battery operated lantern. Note these tents are temporarily erected therefore shared ablutions will be offered.
